I have been viewing things through a camera since commencing a minor in photography at the University of Houston. An applied design practice, teaching, and photography has provided an integrated context for capturing images in which I am interested. Experiences with curating exhibitions, installation design and execution, gallery representation, and a variety of venues for showing work have contributed to an evolving understanding of the art and craft.

I am in gratitude to these persons, past and present, who have influenced, challenged, and guided my looking through a view finder: Robert Cozens, Michael Dunlap, James Evans, Lynn Foster, Cynthia Freeland, Sally Ann Freeman, Joe and Julia Mashburn, Dennis Minty, Flora Moon, Paul Peters, April Rapier, Charles Shore, Marilyn and Walter Taylor, Lew Thomas, Ann Wilkes Tucker, and Pat Long Weaver. A special acknowledgment to Ann MacNaughton for her loving support and partnership in these photographic explorations.
